1. Change the Way We Work

There have been so many innovations with computers and the way we work. Why is it that we still use a mouse and keyboard to interact with a computer? Yes, I know Apple has made some progress with the iphone and soon to be tablet. Nintendo and video games have come closer and experimented with different controls. I think there is a huge market for a more natural system to interact with computers. If we used more of our senses and different movements we would all be happier and healthier.

I know this has done the rounds already, but it’s refreshing to see a major publication pushing forward like this, rather than just complaining about the decline of print.

I don’t think print will ever really die, but for journalistic type publications, it’s a fast sinking ship unless they’re adopting a mentality like sports illustrated appear to be doing.

  3. Save the Planet, With Cell Phones That Last Five Years
From Fast Company

Solar gadget chargers are the rage these days, as we try and rethink our everyday energy use. But it’s really window dressing on the greater problem: Over a two year period, the energy used to make a phone is three times greater than the energy used to operate it.
The solution, naturally, is to use our electronics for longer. But how do you pull that off, when Apple releases a new phone every year?
Designer James Barber has an idea: A cell phone whose guts you could readily replace as new technology arises, and whose case is made out of materials that are 85% recyclable.
